Olympic Gold For Your Personal Training Business
Shame really, because every time I watch one of these 4 yearly sports bonanza's I'm always motivated, inspired and reminded about how becoming a champion in anything is the result of some rather simple 'rules' rather than anything outrageously complex.
Sure, all Olympians are great athletes in their own right but their greatness comes from some of the simplest, most fundamental basics you can think of and can be applied just as easily to making a success of business and life in general.
They are:
1. Do what you love - When you are doing what you love and loving what you do you never have to worry about doing it well because you're naturally drawn to doing it as best as you can by your passion.
Whenever you work at anything in life with passion as your fuel, your success is practically guaranteed.
Lesson: Do what you love or don't do it at all.
2. Commit 100% - You don't become an Olympian with a 'kinda, sorta, maybe' attitude and you won't make a success of your life or business that way either.
Commitment simply means making a decision that cuts you off from all other possibilities and holds you true to your goal.
Lesson: Once you decide to do something then give it everything you got. Play to win and and do everything within your power to make sure you do
3. Practice, Practice, Practice - Olympic athletes don't wake up with the skills required to compete in the greatest games on Earth. They get that way through practicing and practicing often until their weaknesses are gone.
You need to do the same and make sure that you take action DAILY to practice the skills of success.
Lesson: Determine what skills you are most lacking in your quest for success and practice those skills FIRST until they're no longer a weak link.
4. Get a coach - No one gets to the Olympics without a great coach teaching, correcting and pushing them to do better than they've demonstrated in the past. In fact, an athletes choice of coach is often seen as the most critical decision they will ever have to make.
This is true with life success too.
Lesson: Most people think they don't need or can't afford a coach to help them succeed. The truth is, practically every successful person you've ever met (just like every Olympian) has had a coach to help get them to that success, to that win far faster and far easier than they could do so alone.
You need a coach.
5. Compete! - You'll never win if you never get in the game. There are no Olympic medals for watching or even talking about the games.
The only person who even comes close to the medals is the person who steps into the arena and puts it all on the line.
Same with success in life.
Want to win in life? Then get in the game. Write that book, talk at that convention, finish that video, open that gym. Whatever it is you've been talking about, get off your butt and do it.
Lesson: Talking the talk is easy but you never get to win that way. Only ACTION gets results.
There you have it. Simple huh?
Apply these four rules to your life and your business right away and see how quickly you can win your own gold medal. You'll be stunned!
Truth, joy and love

When Will You Have 'Made It' In Personal Training?
THAILAND!
We just love it out here and have been enjoying the fantastic weather, the amazing scenery, the wonderful food and awesome experiences, such as elephant trekking, off road motorcycling (by accident, but that’s another story!) and simply exploring this beautiful part of the world.
I’ve even booked into an intensive muay-thai kickboxing training cam for 10 days of instruction and physical conditioning with top-notch coaches.
Let me tell you, these 3-4 hour sessions are brutal enough but in 34-36 degrees they quite literally reduce me to kneeling in the corner of the ring, fighting back the urge to lose my stomach.
But hey, that’s too graphic and not why I’m writing today : )
The reason why I’m writing is toask you if you know the answer to this question;
Ready?
“when will you be successful?”
No, I don’t mean a date, I mean how will you know you’ve ‘made it ‘ to where you want to go?
What does ‘made it’ mean to you?
I’m asking because so many personal trainers that I work with or who read my letters, simply don’t know, and these that do fond forward the pound or dollar figure as their measure.
“I’ve made it when when I’m earning six figures”. They say but here’s the thing, the real question you need to ask yourself.
If I were to be the success person I dream of becoming, what kind of person would I be? What kind of things would I do? What kind of things would I have?
BE
DO
HAVE
That changes things massively, don’t you think?
You see, most trainers are so hard in pursuit of the monetary figure that they’ve almost forgotten what the money was meant to buy them in the first place. I know of many, many six figure fitness proffesionals who work even harder in pursuit of the next dollar, yet rarely take a day of or a vacation to enjoy the fruit of their labor.
But be, do and have changes everything.
It has for me anyway!
I went from a workaholic focused on income to a person who thinks of my income as something that allows me to be, do and have more in my life. I also realised, as many do, that be and do are far more important to me than have.
So I and my family DO a lot.
This year alone we’ve been to Disney in Florida in January, 2 weeks to Bali, Indonesia in February, 1 week to Krabi, in Thailand, april and now 3 weeks to phuket in Thailand.
Last year we had adventures to ice-hotels and the northern lights in Norway, travelled all over the Australian outback for a month and had a month in Thailand.
In my family, we call it the ’12 weeks rule’ where we try to take a ‘trip/adventure’ as a family every 12 weeks.
This allows me to be the kind of father and husband I saw myself as being, when I thought of success and DO the kinds of
things I hoped success would allow
My point to all this is a simple one.
Stop waiting for success to come before you get to be, do and have the things that success brings in your life.
Start doing them now, create stories for your life then go live them.
To your success!!!

P.S- its true that my income now exceeds six-figures, but I’ve been doing this since my income was less than £30,000 a year. Money has far less to do with success than you think.
P.P.S- many of my friends in the industry earn far more than me, yet they always comment on my ‘millionaire lifestyle’…Worth thinking about!

Ryan Lee Bootcamp Returns!
Ryan Lee has finally decided to put on
another of his famous bootcamps after a
2 year break.
Originally Ryan said he'd NEVER run another
one as they are such hard work to put together
but he's finally relented and, to be honest,
this one looks set to make the first two
bootcamps pale by comparison.
==> Click HERE To Find Out More
And that's praise indeed!
Y'see, I went to Ryan's last bootcamp and was
blown away not only by the amazing quality of
world class speakers and presenters he managed
to pull together, but also by the way he
engineered the networking aspect of the whole
thing.
It really was a stroke of genius!
==> Click HERE To Learn Who's Speaking
In fact, that one attendance at the Ryan Lee Bootcamp really put me on the map as far as my U.S
and Canadian readership are concerned.
Before I went out to Connecticut, my list was mostly U.K based
fitness professional who'd learned about me through the publications I wrote for. The U.S market barely knew me. Yet, by the time I left I had made personal contact with Ryan, Jim Labadie, Alwyn Cosgrove, Pat and Holly Rigsby, Brian Grasso, Zach Even-Esh and many, many more great coaches.
Within a week of getting home I started making money from those
contacts.
Within a month I counted many of them personal friends.
Now, 2 years later, I can attribute literally hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of income to the networking aspect of the bootcamp alone, and everyone else I speak to who attended can say the same.
==> Click HERE To Find Out What People Are Saying About TheRyan Lee Bootcamp
So there was NEVER any doubt that I'd be attending, even though it's my birthday on the 20th and I've never missed a birthday from my family for any reason... til now.
Of course, it also helps that Ryan's asked me to speak a couple of times both at the event and the pre-event session so I get the chance to grab the stage for a while and show off for a bit ; )
But look...
I think you should come.
No, scratch that, I KNOW you should come.
First, you get all the great lectures and workshops with amazing 'use the next day' content that will definitely impact upon your business in a massive way.
Second, you get to network with the real movers and shakers of the fitness industry. In that one lecture hall you'll be exposed to more six-figure fitness professionals than there are left in the rest of the world combined, not to mention Ryan himself who's well into 7 figures from fitness.
Third, the bootcamp is a legitimate business expense, meaning that the flights, hotel rooms and the bootcamp itself are effectively free once you run them through the taxman.
That means it actually costs you zero to attend.
Fourth, I want to bribe you : )
The links in this email are my affiliate links. I could have hidden them and not mentioned it but I want you to know upfront, I stand to gain financially if you buy a ticket.
But I wouldn't tell you to go just for that.
(Hell, I wouldn't fly MYSELF all the way from the UK to speak at an event I don't believe in would I?)
I want you to attend and get the same results that I and many, many others have gotten after attending Ryan's event.
So...
Here's the bribe.
If you come to Ryan's event through my link I'm going to do the following:
1. GIVE you a free copy of my best selling MAGIC Hundred program valued at $59.99
2. GIVE you a free copy of Scientific Advertising for the Fitness Professional valued at $59.99
3. GIVE you the opportunity to attend a special 'closed door' mastermind session with myself and several 'mystery guests' where we'll uncover the hidden assets ALREADY hiding within your fitness business. This is PRICELESS as it will earn you money, money, money from the minute you what you learn into action.
I've never used bribes before and I've certainly never given away my top-selling products to people to attend SOMEONE ELSE'S seminars but I really want you to come.
Just book your place today before Ryan sells out (this is legitimate, unlike digital products which often use scarcity as a selling factor, this event is sold by the seat and once they're filled, that's it) and then email me with your purchase details and I'll send you the ebooks as promised and add you to the guest
list for my closed door mastermind session.
Just click on the link below to go to Ryan's site.

See you there!

Here's How To Recession Proof Your Personal Training Business
I must admit, it's beginning to get on my nerves a bit.
I mean all this talk of recession.
It seems everyday I'm getting emails from personal trainers who're panicking because of impending recession and worried thattheir bootcamps, their studios and their gyms are going to go underor see such a big drop in business that they'll be struggling toget by and pay their bills.
The sad thing is, most of 'em are right!
Not because there's not enough business to go around and not because people are spending less but because they're choosing to accept that recession exists.
It doesn't.
Not for everyone, anyway.
Sure, it's easy to think that when something like a recession comes along that we all have to 'tighten our belts', curb our non-essential spending and ride out the storm until the next upswing but that's because we've been trained to think that way.
And we've trained ourselves to think that way too.
But the truth is, the only reason that so many people get hit so hard during times of recession is that choose to play the recession game.
Especially personal trainers.
They see their client list get smaller and their appointments drop off and so they start to discount their prices to attract more business. But the clients still don't come so they discount them even more.
If they're lucky they may see a little rise in business only now, because they're charging less, they're working longer hours, earning less money and in danger of losing even these clients as the recession kicks in.
Sad to say but this is what most personal trainers will do. In fact, from the emails I'm receiving, many are already doing it!
So that's the bad news, but like I said, it doesn't have to be this way.
There's something you can do TODAY to not only avoid the recession but thrive during it.
You can stop being a 'luxury item' to your clients and start becoming an asset.
What do I mean?
Well, what's the first thing that goes out the window when people are struggling financially?
Luxuries, right?
Or in marketing speak 'non-essential spending', meaning everything that's not essential to that person's ability to get through life.
Food, mortgage, utilities etc are all essentials that people MUST have. New cars, personal training, opera tickets on the other hand are, for most people, luxurious, non-essentials that are cut as soon as the R-word begins to be taken seriously.
And here's the problem; the way most personal trainers market themselves is based upon the 'luxury items' model.
They sell their services to people with disposable incomes that, most of the time, allow for the 'luxury' of personal training. These people are 'treating' themselves to PT, they enjoy it (mostly!), they want it and they may even need it but it will always be something that they're happy to keep in their lives for as long as it doesn't interfere with their necessities.
Trouble is, for most trainers this group makes up the largest proportion (if not all) of their client base meaning that they ALL purchased their sessions with you based on price and will all quit when the price seems too high.
Yet consider this; there are groups of people out there who don't consider ANY price (or at least, any price that a personal trainer could ask) as expensive or luxurious. They simply decide what they want and are determined to get it because they see it as an asset or investment that will benefit them.
For example, my clients pay me £130 and hour (that's around $250). The kind of people that can pay that kind of money aren't worried about inflation, depression or recession. They simply know what they want and are willing to pay the price to get it.
I've routinely been paid £2500 ($5000) plus for a day's work.
I've been paid £30,000 ($60,000) for a single month's PT plus $1000 a day expenses whilst travelling.
Right now I'm putting together a PT program that will cost £10-12,000 a week. Yes, you read that right, per person per week.
And all of this (and more) is going on during a so-called downturn.
How?
By removing myself from the luxury market of people who have to scrimp and scrape to work with me and instead focusing my efforts on those with greater affluence. Those who know what they want and are happy to pay for it regardless of the percentage rate the banks are charging.
To them, it simply doesn't matter. Not one little bit.
If you're thinking "That's all great for you Dax, but how does this benefit me?" then here's your answer.
Put your prices... UP!
Seriously, put your prices up. Move away from those who consider your services to be a luxury and instead start marketing to the affluent, the wealthy and the downright rich.
Sound too mercenary?
It's not.
Working with the affluent is no easy ride You'll earn every single penny you earn from them.
They expect better service, better results and, well, better everything. And they're right, after all, they're paying for it aren't they? They're paying for exclusivity, for that little bit more, that 'something extra' that isn't delivered by the $40 and $50 an hour PT's.
So you've got to be better and, more importantly, you've got to be seen to be better.
And better is more expensive, no if's, no but's.
Look, I know this runs contra to everything you've ever been told about recession but nevertheless it's true. Putting your prices up, taking your business 'upmarket' and deliberately attracting the affluent is the best way to recession-proof your business.
Still not sure?
Try this; add a high end service to your current marketing materials. Call it 'platinum coaching', call it what you want but make it clear that this is for those looking for that something special rather than simply personal training. Proudly state that you're the most expensive coach around (I do it all the time because I am) and then wait.
It may take a little while but sure enough you'll come to know that what I'm telling you is correct; they're out there. Money in hand. Ready, willing and most able to pay you every single penny you're worth. They always have been; you just never asked before.
So ask!
To your success
Dax Moy

P.S - People who own yachts and aeroplanes and collectors edition sports cars won't even look at a £40-50 trainer... and they won't panic just 'cos someone say's recession either!

Multiple Sources Of Income.... FREE Money Up For Grabs!
Craig asked me why I've chosen to work on several genre of products rather than just staying with one in particular like he's done with his Turbulence Training up til recently.
In the interview I replied that I enjoy working on many, many things and that I tend to follow my passions when I create products.
This is 100% true, of course, but, well, there's a bit more I didn't mention (Hey Craig, I wasn't holding out, I just kind of forgot buddy!)
One of the reasons I work in numerous genre is that my mentors Bob Proctor and Joe Vitale (You'll know them both from The Secret) told me that the truly wealthy never kept all their eggs in one basket. They operate what Bob calls MSI strategies or Multiple Sources Of Income.
Bob once told me that he owned between 5 and 10% of over 1000 companies meaning that if one company goes bust or a competitor steals all their business, he's never going to be in a position where he's badly effected by the loss. After all, in his case this will be .1%, right?
So last night I got to thinking about this again and I did a little math on what I've got going on right now and, seriously, I was shocked!
I've over 30 sources of income.
No, they're not all bringing me in thousands of dollars a week or even a month.
Many are only bringing in $50 a month.
Hardly seems worth it right?
Well, you could think that way and blow it off as 'just $50' or you could look at it another way.
I do NOTHING for that $50.
I send out no emails, don't send traffic to it, don't pay for google adwords but nonetheless, every month I get $50 or more in my bank account.
And I'm getting $50 or more from 12 sources. All 100% passive.
That's $600 a month.
$7200 a year.
I know, it'll hardly buy me the mansion, the yacht and the helicopter I have my eye on but nonetheless, it's $7200 a year sitting on the table and up for grabs, so I might as well grab it right?
But if I can grab 12 sources for free couldn't I grab 120? Or 1200? Or More?
Sure I can.
In fact, that's just what I'm going to do! By the end of 2008 I'm going to have 100 or more $50 plus sources of passive income netting me $60,000 a year for nothing (once I set them up).
100 sources of income sounds like a lot of work doesn't it? But did you know that many of the things you ALREADY DO online could be making you money while you sleep?
As in, you don't have to do anything EXTRA to monetize the work that you're doing for free right now.
Take http://www.metacafe.com/ for example.
Did you know that if you were to load your youtube videos here and place it into their Producer Rewards program that you could be earning cash from them instead of just putting them out for free?
Granted, it's not a lot of money (they pay $100 for 20,000 views and $1000 for 200,000) but that's not the point. The point is that there's money on the table if you look for it. And it doesn't require any more work on your behalf.
Right now, the leading producer has earned over $108,000 this year from people viewing his stuff.
Not bad huh?
And you can monetize the same video over and over again with other pay per view video sites like http://www.break.com/who'll pay you cash if your video gets played enough.
And here's a bonus to doing this even if you don't make as much money as you'd like...
Instead of your video living solely on youtube, you've now got it in 3, 4, 5 or more sites which means more traffic, more backlinks and more potential revenue off your main sales items.
This is a HUGE area and one which I've recently spent a lot of time exploring.
I'm by no means the master in this ... yet, but I'm going to share a stack of this with you over the coming weeks so stay tuned.
Dax Moy

P.S - You can get paid for articles, videos, audios and stacks more that I'll be telling you about. You'll be stunned!

Thomas Edison's Success Formula For Personal Trainers
I used to think that in order to become successful that I had to create unique ideas that no-one, not another soul on the planet had had and then do my best to market them before others had their own 'unique' ideas that were the same as mine (think about that for a second)
I used to think that if someone took one of my ideas and used it to make money then they were somehow stealing something from me and weakening my position so that my own success would falter and that if I did the same with theirs that this somehow made ME a thief.
I used to think "I can't do that, it's already been done... I've missed the boat on this" and quit projects that I'd been passionate about because someone 'beat' me to bringing it to market.
I used to.
But not anymore.
Now I realise that no idea is truly unique but that each of us has a unique way of applying (or failing to apply) our ideas to our lives. Because of this, there is more than enough room for
EVERY idea any of us ever have.
If this wan't the case then there would only ever be one of any type of commodity or item in the world.
One type of car.
One type of TV.
One type of washing machine.
One type of [Insert what YOU do here]
But there's not is there?
There are hundreds, if not thousands of each of these things.
Now I realise that every person who came before me and everyone who follows gets an equal share of all the information and ideas of all the generations who precede them. It doesn't make sense NOT to use it.
You wouldn't dismiss reading because someone else 'invented' it would you?
You wouldn't rid your home of electricity because someone else beat you to it?
You wouldn't pass up medical help because you had no hand in the founding of medical knowledge, right?
So what if what you want to do is already in existence? If you want to do it, and do it your way then do it!
Life isn't school.
There's no teacher who's going to mark you down for copying the kid next to you.
Copy all you want.... then improve.
Now I realise that Thomas Edison's formula for success is the fastest, surest way to guarantee that you get what you want from life.
"...start where the last man left off."
See, you really don't have to re-invent the wheel. In fact, that's just not smart. It's wasteful.
But...
You CAN paint the wheel the colour your want it.
You CAN use different materials.
You CAN make it bigger or smaller, wider or narrower.
You CAN.
So, if it feels like success has been eluding you and that your 'unique' ideas never seem to go anywhere or that others 'beat you to it' before you get the rewards, then try Edison's approach.
Start where the last person left off and add your signature to an existing success.
Try it today!
P.S - It's always easier to improve on someone elses idea than start from scratch. That doesn't mean that the improvement isn't just as valuable (or more so) than the 'original' idea. The idea you improve upon may change millions of lives whilst the one you insist upon being original may never see the light of day... worth thinking about!

Why You're Still Struggling In Your Fitness Business
You've heard this before.
You've heard 'guru' after guru tell you that you should do this one thing in order to reach that elusive six figures.
You listened, you nodded in all the right places and then you went right back to doing the things you've always done and, surprise, surprise, continued to get the results you've always gotten...
...and you wonder why things aren't getting better!
What am I talking about?
I'm talking about making the transition from technician to leader.
I'm talking about going from trainer to entrepreneur.
I'm talking about being responsible for earning all your income yourself to having other people and other things earn money FOR you.
The trouble is, whilst many people are talking about this in a general kind of way very few are telling trainers EXACTLY what they mean by going from technician to leader... and those that do are charging a lot of money to share the 'secret' that makes this transition possible.
Let's put an end to that today shall we?
Let's look at a few MUST HAVE's necessary in making your transition...
1. Telephone script - Unless you have a 'company way' of answering the telephone and taking enquiries you don't have a reproducable business.
2. Consultation script - Unless you have a 'company way' of running a consultation then you don't have a business.
3. Sales script - Unless you have a 'company way' of making the sales process reproduceable then you don't have a business.
4. Assessment script - Unless you have a 'company way' of assessing new clients you don't have a business
5. Programming script - Unless you have a 'company way' of programming your clients then you don't have a business
6. Nutrition script - Unless you have a 'company way' of advising on nutrition and diet then you don't have a business
7. Coaching script - Unless you have a 'company way' setting goals and targets with your clients then you don't have a business
8. Training Script - Unless you have a 'company way' of running each session from how you warm up to how you stretch to how you apply resistance and cardio training then you don't have a business
But that's not all!
Do you have a script for answering email enquiries, a script for how you and your staff should dress, how they should be paid?
Do you have a script for your marketing targeting the various media, how often you should advertise, how often you should press release, how often you should distribute flyers? Do you know IN ADVANCE which ads you're going to run and when?
Chances are, as you read through the list above you'll have none or very few of the items checked off.
THAT'S why you don't have a six-figure fitness business and that's why six figures are eluding you!
See, you can have the best certifications, the best knowledge base, the best 1 on 1 working relationships with your clients but if you don't have AT LEAST the list above (and there's a bunch more) running well then you don't have a business at all.
You have a job that is 100% dependent upon your physical presence and is unlikely to ever turn into anything more than a personal income.
So please, if you're even slightly serious about making a difference to your clients, your business, your income and you life, then dedicate 1 hour a day for the next 2 weeks and make a commitment to creating your scripts.
Put 'em all in a three ring binder and before you know it, you'll have a company operations manual and the START of a great business.
On the flip side, don't do it and you're stuck in the exact same spot you are right now.
Your choice!
Dax Moy
www.personaltrainersuccessacademy.com
P.S - I don't know ANYONE who's doing really well for themselves who doesn't have scripts for running their business... I know lots of struggling people who don't though!
